THE FAMOUS CITY OF SWITZERLAND
Switzerland is a country having recognition of allure and erudition. Although it is a not a big country; however it has a very long history. Switzerland has always been ranked higher as far as the tourism is concerned.
Switzerland has the 19th strongest economy in the world. This small country has its own class and beauty, and has some big attractions for the tourists. Matterhorn, the 14,685 ft tall mountain exists in this country. With some other fabulous snowy peaks, some excellent ski resorts, spectacular lakes, splendid plains, deep forests, cities full of life, restaurants and accommodations, Switzerland has become a must-see destination for the tourists worldwide. Some of its cities are very well-known around the globe.
Bern
Bern, the capital of the country, is a full-of-style place; a city with a blend of some classic and modern features. You may find some very clean streets, sophisticated buildings, museums, a six kilometer long porch, fountains, statues; with simply reflecting the shades of some old history. Many of the original buildings still survive today, giving you a splendid opportunity to stroll in the ancient streets and see the historic town squares.
Bern’s most familiar site is the exorbitant Clock Tower, which dates back to the 13th century. At 4.00 pm everyday, there is a puppet presentation which has a great deal of attraction for the visitors. This presentation, which includes the cock crowing, a clown striking the bell, a lion shaking its head and a crowd of bears strolling jointly, has always been appraised by the visitors.
Geneva
Geneva is the other extraordinary and prime Swiss destination; especially for the tourists. Because of its ideal location, it is undoubtedly the most fortunate Swiss city. Drive for 15 minutes in any direction from the city, and the panorama is ready to take your breath.
Geneva is the second largest city of Switzerland; and historical as well. Geneva is also chosen as one of the world’s best places to live. This city provides you an exclusive opportunity to witness the great European peaks such as Alps and Jura. Geneva Lake, the largest lake in Europe, also exists there. On the scenic shore of Lake Geneva is located one of the most renowned fortress in Switzerland, i.e. The Château de Chillon. One of its 100 buildings is as old as the 11th century. Other renowned places in this city are Geneva fountain and Flower Clock.
Zurich
Zurich is yet another Swiss city that is famous worldwide primarily due to some financial establishments. This densely populated Swiss city is also famous for its excellent art galleries and shops on Bahnhofstrasse. Lake Zurich offers attractions like swimming, sunbathing, and strolling on the shore.
Lucerne
Lucerne is also a popular tourist destination. Situated near the Reuss River, this charismatic and gorgeous city would be a perfect base camp for you that offer a very easy access to the nearby lakes and mountains such as Lake Lucerne, Alps and the Ticino. There is also a 7000 ft high monument, the Pilatus. From there you can enjoy a bird eye view of the city as well as the Central Switzerland.
