Egyptian Festival at St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church

DESTINATION -Shish kabobs and stuffed grape leaves competed last weekend for the attention of shoppers of jewelry and people interested in the Egyptian history of Jesus traveling to Nazareth with Joseph and Mary.

It all happened during the end-of-summer festival put on by 60 volunteers at St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church, 2100 E. Pleasant Valley Road, Seven Hills.

The outdoor grills that cooked fresh-daily food never slowed, in part because the festival drew about 5,500 people, many eager for Mediterranean food, including tasty desserts like baklava. Plus, the weather was better than forecast. See all
