DESTINATION -Vegas Tourism Board Pays for the Fusion Center Intelligence Analyst


City of Las Vegas' has been approved almost a half million dollars over three years to pay wages to terrorism analysts and intelligence fusion in the center of the city, reports the Las Vegas Sunday

Although some board members in the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, quasi-government agency devoted to marketing the city in the world, have a reservation, the board believes can be marketed to tourists.

Although the vote has been agreed, some board members expressed reluctance to make a payment to a position of authority. But in the end, the council has been persuaded that the new position can be used as a marketing tool conventiongoers to ensure that they will be safe in Las Vegas than elsewhere, if they attend the show.

Counterterrorism consists of a central counterterrorism, tactical crime analysis, critical infrastructure, emergency management, chemistry, biology, and Radiological nuclear and explosive materials response team.

Although there is no threat of terrorism was uncovered targeting "Sin City," Las Vegas Metro Police believe the city remains attractive terrorist target. The new intelligence analysts will be recruited by Metro, appointed by the Clark County sheriff, and stationed in almost two years of Southern Nevada Fusion Counterterrorism Center.
