DESTINATION - Greece offers a variety of experiences, activities and landscapes. It is famous for its natural beauty, historical sites and nightlife, and of course because trusted sunny summers and many beaches and islands on the beach, which stretches along the Aegean, Ionian and Mediterranean Sea.

This attracts more than 15 million visitors a year, making it one of the top 20 tourist destinations in the world, 90% of visits coming from European countries other (although in the last few years there has been growth in the number of tourists from other regions of the world).

The most popular destination is the capital, Athens, and the islands, especially Crete, Rhodes and Corfu. Some areas are very tourist oriented, but those who seek a quieter experience can still find places that are free from mass tourism.

Most tourists arrive in the summer months - April to October, with peak season from July and August. Outside this period, most Greek tourist infrastructure, particularly on the islands, slips into hibernation.

The majority of scheduled international flights go through Athens and Thessaloniki. But in tourism, charter and low budget airlines fly from various cities in Europe arrive daily in various popular destination island of small-town and big city.

A valid passport is required to enter Greece. Citizens of some countries non-EU also must obtain a visa, but citizens of the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand can stay for 90 days without a visa.
