St. Peter's Basillica
St. Peter's Basillica is one of the largest Catholic church in the world. This also has the most interior, able to accommodate the number of 60,000 people. Catholic tradition holds that Saint Peter's tomb, one of the Apostles of Jesus, under the altar of basillica. Despite popular misconception, Saint Peter's cathedral Basillica not (because it is not in the seat of the bishop).
It's the old Constantinian basillica on this site since the 4th century and the present building was completed in 1626. This is related to Michelangelo (the first chapel in the north aisle contains the famous PietĂ ) and with the papacy. There are more than 100 graves in Basillica, many located under the building.
