Schönbrunn Palace is one of the most important cultural monuments in Austria. For decades this has become a very popular tourist destination for a visit to Vienna. Only heaven can be visited free of charge and they are worth a few hours of your time.
Doors open at 6 (during the winter or 6:30) and close between 5:30 and 8, depending on the season. If you arrive by metro you may enter the Zoo through the yard while the door if you come by tram, you can enter the base through the main gate.
Secret garden which is located between the palace and Gloriette (at the top of the hill). Among them, there's Neptune Fountain. The bottom of the West has turned into an English Garden. On both sides of the Garden there are 32 secret statue. In general, except if you enter a building, which is confusing, zoo or take to see views of Gloriette, you need not pay anything.
It's pretty much impossible to see all the major part for one day. It gets very hot during the summer so be sure to bring enough water (you must log in to the zoo for the mini-store, so it was not right either) and running shoes. It's pretty easy ride to the hill Gloriette and a magnificent view, even if you do not ride on the deck.
