Eleven Indonesian embassies in foreign countries are actively promoting tourism through diplomats and Indonesian citizens domiciled abroad, said a senior tourism official. Eleven diplomats in embassies play a tremendous role tourism campaign launched by Indonesia, Nurchaya Nia, director for the convention, incentive and promotion affairs at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, said here on Saturday.

He said eleven Indonesian embassies are people in Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Japan, South Korea, China, India, UK, Netherlands, Germany and Saudi Arabia. Among the efforts made, including their approach to tourism operators in the countries concerned and the distribution of tourism brochures in the tourism agency.

They also keep the needs of foreign tourists and provide feedback on the exciting journey that will be held so that foreign tourists will be more closely and understand India. He said that the number of foreign tourist arrivals in the first quarter of 2009 increased 1.53 percent compared with those who come in the same period the previous year. Nia said that the flow of international tourists in other countries in the first quarter of 2009 has decreased. That is why the increase in foreign tourists arrival of the positive indications for the development of tourism.
