Indonesia Be a Second Language in Ho Chi Minh City

Local Government Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, the Indonesia became the official second language in December 2007, Indonesia said a diplomat.

"English with English, French and Japanese as a second language a priority," said Consul General of Indonesia in Ho Chi Minh City for the period 2007-2008, Ahmad Irdamis in Jakarta on Friday.

To develop and facilitate the study Bahasa Indonesia, the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in the city to help a variety of facilities that needed some universities, said Irdamis.

Facilities assisted, among other computer equipment, tools, support faculty and financial assistance for any activity relating to the campaign effort in the Indonesian region of each university.

Universities is also a speech competition in English, essay competitions and exhibitions of Indonesian culture. Hong Bang University, National University of HCMC University of Social and Humanities and a study English.

"The number of students enrolled until November 2008 as many as 63 people and the university, the interest to learn English tend to increase," said Irdamis.

He holds some of the youth of Vietnam saw the need to learn English, considering the possibility of increasing bilateral relationship that has the second largest country in ASEAN in the future.
