DESTINATION - 15 Principals Tourism India Visit Surabaya
The delegation consisting of 15 travel agents from India, recently visited the city of Surabaya, to prove himself attraction of East Java's capital city as a tourist destination.

Famliarization group trip (famtrip) leading travel agents from Coimbatore and Hyderabad had come to be coordinated by Silk Air, which in collaboration with the Surabaya Tourism Promotion Board (STPB) and Aneka Kartika Tours & Travel, as a press release received from STPB in Jakarta, Sunday.

The existence of direct flights from Coimbatore and Hyderabad-Singapore-Surabaya strengthened cultivated reason Surabaya as the main tourist destinations in Indonesia after Bali.

Island of the Gods reputation familiar among fans the world's tourist attractions to make the agents look for new alternative tourism destination in Indonesia. Two things this is also the reason behind the group coming from India to Surabaya.


The delegation arrived in Surabaya Juanda International Airport by using Silk Air aircraft, after it was transiting in Singapore. Arriving in the city of Heroes, the group was greeted with a welcome dinner at the Kartini Restaurant, Surabaya Plaza Hotel (SPH).

As of this famtrip, Executive Director Joshua Anshori STPB said, STPB concerned introducing further potential of tourism in Surabaya and East Java.

Expected to return from here, they can be working on tour packages that include the city of Surabaya and its surroundings as one of tourist destinations in Indonesia.

After resting for the evening, the next day the group was taken around Surabaya for a full day. Visits will be made to the various cultural sights such as the Submarine Monument, House of Sampoerna, and the Youth Center.

In this group Youth Center will be invited to witness Reog (Peacock Lion Dance). After spending the afternoon in the heart of the city of Surabaya with a shopping tour in Tunjungan Plaza.

In the afternoon they were invited to explore the area west of Surabaya, witnessing the beauty of a modern city built Citra Raya area of 2000 hectares, and the Ciputra Water Park, before the dinner and finally back to the hotel.

STPB data shows the number of tourists from India who visited Surabaya in 2007 reached 2388 people, as many as 3099 people in 2008, and January to September 2009 reached 2288 people.

The plan, they will spend their third day in the Stone, continued to Coban Rondo waterfall before stopping in the highlands on the slopes of Mount Arjuno to stay.
